Wow 3 pages of where to buy your DEF LMAO! Noticed no one posted any links about how big trucks are stranded on the side of the road do to contaminated DEF from those filthy truck stop stations. :W:B
Those poor wrecker drivers must be exhausted having to tow all of those poor souls from the side of the highways and byways all over the good ole USA :B:W

Not sure one would see many posts from OTR truckers on an RV specific site. Again it's some dealer service departments(specifically RAM) making warranty denials based on "bad DEF" diagnosis that has some concerned.

Creep around the truckers forums and report back how many are having DEF issues
Please do post some facts about "Again it's some dealer service departments(specifically RAM) making warranty denials based on "bad DEF" diagnosis that has some concerned." because I haven't seen any one posting this. Ford on the other hand has been doing it but I have not heard of Ram or GM doing it. At least not wide spreed anyway.
Don - nevadanickExplorerMy 2011 GM went into the shop a couple times because the dic said poor quality DEF and not once was it the DEF. always a sensor or pump issue.

Don - nevadanickExplorerIdaD, thats because the liquid dissolved and washed the crystals away. So there ya go.
- jus2shyExplorerCrystals only form when the DEF has had a chance to dry. My filler neck occasionally has a few crystals in there, but nothing much. You're never going to see crystals "After" you fill up. The crystals dissolve in the distilled water.
But again, I buy at the pump because it's convenient for me and on the way to a trip (work, play, etc...). If I didn't have a convenient truck stop to top-off on DEF, I'd be like the other members here and buy the jugs. However, I like using the pump DEF as it's the same DEF used in the local bus fleet. Many DEF using buses well past 200,000 miles on that "Pump" stuff. DEF supply is also always fresh as well. So no shelf-rot risk. So I think the worry of contamination is largely over blown. The only contaminant I'd be worried about is "Salt". A teaspoon of salt can ruin a 150 gallon tote. Chances of that happening are very low. nevadanick wrote:
The inside of the jug you just bought had crystals in it at the top where there was no liquid. Also look inside the filler on your truck. People worry about things that just dont matter.
I wondered about this scenario too, but never saw any in the clear type jugs. Having said that the crystals themselves don't concern me.
In addition I use the Ford brand spout that prevents overfill spillage and the instructions say to rinse spout after use to prevent crystal formation and store in the clean zip lock bag.- IdaDExplorer

I've never noticed it before but maybe. Regardless, driving across town takes a lot longer than stopping at the Walmart that's between my office and my House. That matters to me.
Edit - I checked the jug after I dumped it in and it was completely clean. May not matter but there ya go. - nevadanickExplorerThe inside of the jug you just bought had crystals in it at the top where there was no liquid. Also look inside the filler on your truck. - IdaDExplorerI drove across town today to the only place in my area that sells DEF at the pump. All of the dispensers were covered in crystals. I'm sure it would have been fine but I went to Walmart and bought a 2.5 gallon jug for $7.88 instead. I had to pick up a couple of other things anyway and that's only about $.30 more per gallon. I think I'll just stick with the jugs unless I happen to need it on a trip and I find a place that has it. Not so much cause I think it's better, but it's just a lot more convenient where I live.
