Which glue for Dicor roof

Hello all, I need to glue a 6" diameter stainless steel disk to the top of my camper to serve as a base for a magnetic antenna. I want to be sure I use a glue that will not dissolve or otherwise damage the Dicor. Any suggestions?
  • What band or frequency is the antenna for? For anything below about 440Mhz, your 6" disc will be a poor ground and you antenna will perform poorly if at all. You are better off clamping to the ladder or luggage rack so the antenna has a ground to work against.

The earlier advice to screw down steel right on. But your antenna won't work without a decent ground plane.

How much ferrous metal is in the stainless steel disk? Most stainless steel would not serve as a base for a magnet.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Take Joe's advice and use proper screws then sealant. Not a good idea to try to glue something to the rubber roof membrane which can be subjected to wind loading.

  • Dicor self-leveling sealer does a good job of "gluing" things to the camper, but the glues that are used to adhere the rubber to the roof will not hold the rubber down if you have any type of constant pressure such as wind pushing on the antenna base.

You probably need to put some screws in it to keep it from pulling the rubber up.
