Winterizing pump hose attachment

I watched the video in the link below on how to winterize a tt. Can anyone tell me where to find the hose that you put in the antifreeze and attach to the water pump? I tried searching a few online stores and I cannot find them.

RV winterizing kits are available at CW, Walmart, Tweetys, AdventureRV......just about any rv parts store. About $16 for the kit......hose, 'T', fittings, valve etc.

yep, why "mess" around trying to slap something together. and unhooking and hooking it up twice a year is silly.

dee74, I notced you are from central Va. If you are in the Richmond area ,the month of October Southern RV host free winteriztion clinics on Saturday mornings, they can help you with your needs. They will tech you how to winterize completly and in depth.

We bought our first TT from Southern RV, and I attended their winterization clinic. It was helpful being a noob, and eye-opening when they displayed a water heater that had frozen and busted...
  • Just disconnect the incoming hose to the water pump, (the one that comes from your tank) and connect your antifreeze hose there

If you don't have the WH bypass kit, it's well worth it to install one. Once installed you simply turn the bypass valve, put the hose in the AF jug and turn the pump on.

Or as I do, you could just blow out the water lines with compressed air, no antifreeze to get rid of, just sterilize your water system and go. The only antifreeze I use is in the drain traps.

  • Depending on the brand pump you may find the fitting at a agricultural supply store like Tractor Supply. I made my winterizing hose with a Fimco quick connector and vinal hose (3/8" I think).
  • I found the whole kit but you probably just need the hose and fitting, right?

Mine is just an elbow with a female swivel nut and barbed end that goes on the valve.

Go to CW and buy the fitting and a piece of cheap clear vinyl hose.

  • I made my own on a previous tt. Just a good length of the appropriate size rubber hose, and the correct size female connector. All you have to do is disconnect the pump intake and replace with your homemade one. Make sure it's long enough to go to the bottom of the bottle. Turn on the pump and let it draw into the system. Sorry I don't remember the exact sizes.
