ok, so I got everything figured out and mounted in the truck camper. I haven't hooked up the BMS yet as I found out the cable I got is a non isolated uart to usb and I want a isolated one that will eliminate any chance of a power spike through the common ground destroying my BMS or raspberry Pi. so that will be later on down the road.
so here is the dc to dc adjustable stepdown converter and the Pi mounted and wired in. Yes the display for the stepdown converter is upside down, but it is right side up when I am adjusting it if that makes any sence.. 😉 excuse the getto mounting solution, I could have screwed the plastic shell to the wood, but then I wouldnt be able to put it togeather.. its kind of a bad design mounting wise. but I came up with a temporary solution that has it firmly in place with the go to zap straps haha oh and there was a button to toggle off the back lighting aso it is not lit up anymore.
so after an hour of trying to figure out why I couldn't conect to it, I noticed the memory card on the counter while reaching for a beer. after a min of cursing, I powered down the pi, put the card in and repowered it up and all was good. now I just have to get a victron inverter and everything will be done.
and if you have a cerbo or this setup running the newer firmware versions they have a new UI you can pick from, I kinda like it for a static display when I get that part figured out.
