To Junk Or Not To Junk My Truck

My truck engine had an exhaust valve break and destroy #5 piston and cylinder walls. I can install a 5.4 junkyard engine and sell, then get a newer truck. I can transplant a larger gas or diesel engine into the truck at some cost and time and keep it. Last option is to buy a larger truck and set it up for truck camping. I'm open to your suggestions and comments.

    to me I would be tempted to clean it up, then list if for a price that is reasonable "as is"  some people look for truck with blown engines for motor swaps and if the price is good it will go fast and save you the cost of scraping it and you can still get something out of it.

    if it doesn't sell then you have to decide if the time and money you have to put into it to get it to a decent running condition is worth the return.
