- arfriemanExplorerGot it, thanks. Pray for clear roads.
- pauljExplorer IIUS95 is often mentioned as a route between Reno and Vegas. I forgot that US95 itself does not go that far west. It's US395 that comes into Carson City from the south. But in winter they probably want to avoid the California parts of 395, which tend be higher. So catching US50 further east makes sense.

95 does not make it into Carson City, 95N to Alt. 95N to 50W into Carson City. Dick - arfriemanExplorerYes, thanks.
- outdoorloversExplorerThere is already snow throughout the Sierras. Be sure to check on roads before you leave.
- arfriemanExplorerno, staying in Tahoe Valley Campground. Open all year.
- OutdoorPhotograExplorerAre you staying at the RV resort that is associated with thousand trails? Near where 50 splits off (goes to Sierra Tahoe)?
- arfriemanExplorerThanks. Yes, going early to get set up. Hoping for lots of snow but after we get there.
- OutdoorPhotograExplorerYou have to check weather but that is early. It's possible but not probable that you will need chains. Hope the slopes are open. Skied Tahoe two winters ago at New Years and it was man made snow and rocks. Are you just going early to be ready? supposed to be a good year, fingers crossed.
