Bryce Canyon National Park

Most local places, you are lucky to find a spot on a Friday. However the more remote places like Yosemite and Yellowstone, where many of the campers are taking more than a weekend off work to visit the area, you will see they tend to fill up all week long.

Yes they will have more traffic on the weekends, but still are not the full to empty like some places near a larger town. It is more like full to 1/2 full on Sundays.

When I was in Yellowstone in 1994, they did not require reservations or even allow them at that time. By 2006, reservations where for each campsite and almost required. THe park rarely emptied in the summer time.

Bryce was another matter. I camped at Ruby's Inn and never have a problem getting a site in October. I like the full hookups and found the hot tub too!

We stayed at Ruby's Inn also. They take reservations & are at the entrance to Bryce Canyon.

Kodachrome State Park...several full hookup sites and very beautiful.

Kodachrome is one of the lesser visited parks in the area. I liked it. Photo from camp site. Bryce and Kodachrome each can be "seen" in 1/2 day or you can hike for a month.

At your size Bryce should not be a problem inside the park, especially arriving on a Sunday. Those from the general area are headed home. The rentals head out early. Arrive by early afternoon & you should have good pickens. There are areas whch are size restrictive because there are not many sites suitable for >35' units & a 30'C in a site that can hold a >40'er is a waste.

Been to Bryce a number of times. Always stayed in North CG, because of our size. Sunset CG has many sites suitable for class Cs & TCs. Took a drive through. It is not hilly like North CG.

Enjoy the visit. Like Bryce better than Gran Canyon.

If you can't get into Bryce, check out Red Canyon national forest campground nearby. It's a beauty! There is a dump station/water fill but no electric; however, that area is cool enough that you won't need it, especially at night.

You shouldn't have a problem on a Sunday night. Utahans have a healthy love for their NP's and fill them on weekends, but like most, have to go back to work on Monday.

We prefer North CG in the park. Outside the park, Red Canyon NFS CG is great, but lower and warmer in the summer.

Just my opinion, but I would camp at Zion at the Watchman CG or one of the others. Much more to see IMO and Bryce is not that far away.
