I'm an owner at TGO and I have never seen the pools closed for the season. They are both open year round. They do have some written guidelines for closing the pools during extreme cold spells, but it is unusual for the pools to be closed for more than a day or two. Also the Oak Cove pool is only covered with a screening material to keep leaves and bugs out. One can still get a fair amount of solar radiation at that pool.

I have stayed at the great outdoors three times and love it. Large, quiet lots,great exercise classes, nice golf course and friendly people.

We stayed there a few years ago. Very big and clean park. Mostly park models there but they have also just spaces that some people own and rent out. Big spaces, back-ins but huge. Nice enclosed puppy area. Titusville has some shopping on the East side of 95 with even a Walmart.
We were just in that area for 3 weeks in January but we stayed at Christmas RV park. It is a little closer to our son in Orlando.
Daytona has more activities and we even enjoyed a nice luau dinner show in Daytona

There is also a casino boat cruise we did while there that was great fun and resonable (if you don't lose gambling).

They also have 1/2 day and full day fishing excursions not far from where you will be staying.

2X on Seasons in the Sun, Manatee Hammock CC is nice but the pool is not heated.

About three years ago we met with a group of friends at Manatee Hammock CC and had a good time. If I remember right, it had full hook ups. It also has a pool and is on the river.

I remember it being nice and clean.

I've stayed at the Great Outdoors back in '09. A buddy took care of the reservations but what i can tell you the place was nice and manicured. The pool was clean the place was well maintained.

Just 5 miles north is Mims and we stayed at a great park called seasons in the sun. The park was very clean, folks were nice, and we have already paid for next year. Heated pools, hot tubs, had activities like pickle ball, horseshoes, shuffle board, water exercise, yoga. Jim Shoe is right the area is depressed a little since the closing of Nasa program. However you are in the middle of 30-40 min. from Smyrna/Daytona beach, 30 min. from Cocoa, 30-40 min from Orlando. Merritt Island is awesome with great beaches.

My folks had a park model parked in Mims, just north of Titusville up until the mid 90's. Even then, as the Cape was winding down their activities, Titusville businesses were closing pretty rapidly. The shopping center was nearly empty even then. Shopping required a trip to Merritt Island. Others may have newer information. There's more choices just south of there around Cocoa.
