Basement Storage???

I'm impressed with the size of the storage in the baggage area in my Redwood 36RL but it seems I just pile more junk in there. I'm looking for more creative ideas to better organize the chaos that I'm experiencing. Pics please.

(I would have signed this post but I think my pen is lost in the cargo area . . . )

This is a mod I recently did to my basement to end the bent basement door lips.

Now all my totes slide in and out with no issues at all.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
  • colored totes... and a stackable drawer system for the smaller items. That way you can remember where you have put things... in the red tote or the blue tote. and the stackable drawers unstack or can be pulled out if you need to carry them to a picnic table for sorting.

For really odd sized things.... zip lock makes huge zip lock bags. Big enough to put all the sewer hoses into, for example.

No paper bags. Nothing stored in cardboard boxes unless those are stored in air tight bags... you don't want bugs, mice or mold.

Be careful of using cardboard long-term. An exterminator with an extensive background told me that roaches love to eat the glue used to hold cardboard together. He advised us to replace cardboard storage boxes in our (stix-n-brix) basement storage area with plastic totes. Afterwards, our bug problem all but went away.

  • X2 on plastic totes. Have used them in multiple rigs. Organized by the stuff that's in them, slides well on the carpet type stuff in most storage areas
