- SCVJeffExplorerThey also sell insulation "nails". It's a small metal plate set in a fast cure epoxy or adheisive with a steel rod that you push the insulation down on, then push a keeper on the rod and trim off excess rod. Not a bad backup to adheisive on the insulation itself that does let go on occasion
- GjacExplorer IIIAny contact adhesive. I like Weldwood contact adhesive from Lowes, HD, or WM. Just brush both faying surfaces let dry and stick together.
- Seabee_Chief1ExplorerHow do I attach the insulation to the underside of the cowling? Silicone adhesive? Construction adhesive?

Absolutely and I'm surprised it didn't come from the factory with a heat/sound shield.
I'm not surprised at all. We have had more than our share of problems with this brand new RV. Mostly small things, but it has been in the shop more than on the road....literally. I have a pretty bad attitude toward Thor products. Not a big fan of Camping World either. But we are getting the wrinkles ironed out and looking forward to better times. - Seabee_Chief1Explorer

I'm a noobie, so I need help. Lots of help. First, it says I can't see your pictures because of my settings. I don't know how to get to the settings and what to change them to when I get there. Second, how does this insulation attach to the inside of the cowling? - 96Bounder30EExplorer IIHere's a couple of pics of when I did mine.......the difference it made was remarkable....

Lowes sells a roll of insulating material with Al foil on one side about 1/2 in thick that was relatively cheap. Much cheaper than Dynamat or some of the other automotive or boat insulations. I added this to mine and it made a big difference in sound and heat reduction.
Yep but I went to Home Depot. But answer is the same
