Hitch mount for Pole to mount solar panel
Can't seem to find much on mounting my solar panel on a pole and have it attached to a slider going into the hitch receiver. This may be an option so I won't have to mount it permanently on the fiberglass roof and can easily adjust it into the sun.. I did find a few flag pole mounts like this. Camco Hitch mount for flag pole
But I'm not sure it can handle the weight. It would be difficult to push up a pole with the solar panel on it very high. Probably could assemble it on the ground and with a helper uprighting it and slide it in the receiver.
Renogy has a 150w panel that's 39"x39" and weighs 25 lbs. That's too heavy to raise above the MH roof line but do-able to maybe 4 or 5 feet .
A local tow hitch dealer says he can make an "L" shaped mount for the receiver that's more sturdy, just needs my design. They have done it for very long flag poles.
Any thoughts???
