Anderson Ultimate hitch part needed

The bolt hole on the top of the square coupler tube on my Anderson Ultimate hitch is stripped. We’re camping in Wells ME and wondering if there is anywhere local that I can purchase a replacement. It’s Sunday night and I have googled and found a few places listed but none of them present themselves as Anderson dealers. Anyone know of a place in the area?

They ship overnight if needed ;)

YES that is what I meant by NEED. Normal replacement parts come in a big hurry.

  • I have wondered if that hole could be stripped. What torque setting were you using when it stripped?
  • Thanks for the replies! I found a machine shop to tap it for me. That should get me home. I’m going to order a replacement from Andersen just to be sure I have the right thing once we get home.
  • Not knowing your hitch I'm not sure what the bolt hole is for. But I'm imagining my Equal-i-zer hitch and there are bolts where the square sockets pivot.

Can you through bolt it with a grade 8 bolt and nut from Home Depot (look in the little drawers in the nuts and bolts aisle) Or at minimum a grade 5 bolt? Just be aware that the regular bulk bolts on the shelves are weak like maybe a grade 2 so I wouldn't use them unless an absolute emergency.
  • I don’t think you are going to have luck finding parts. Call the company and see if they can ship it to you
