Axle Alignment

Friend of mine and I were crawling around underneath trying to see why water was dripping from the "cardboard" enclosure... guess it was the filter on the water pump that wasn't completely turned in... further exploration is necessary.

Anyway, he noticed the drivers side rear wheel was wearing severely on the inside. I've figured it's only been towed 4000 miles or so. I have Moryde suspension with the adjustable washers. Anyone know how difficult it might be to align the rear axle?

Does this seem like a warranty issue? We've only owned this since March 2014.

Just need a little advice before I contact Moryde. Dynamax service figured it'd be a Moryde problem... somehow I know it'll be a "Larry" problem.

Thx
  • Easy to check parallel to the front axle with a tape measure. Within 1/4" is fine.
Otherwise probably a bent axle or bad tire. Remove tire for proper inspection.
  • Mine was covered under warranty (old Keystone) along with 2 tires, but that changes with the temperature outside.

Lose wheel bearings can cause it as well - worth a check.
  • Since it is only one tire I would look to see if a bushing is worn as factory bushings are plastic. Had this happen to me.
  • A tire can also have a broken belt or slipped belt and cause inside or outside excessive wear. I had this happen to one tire last winter. I was concerned like you that there was an alignment problem, but the tire dealer seemed to think it was the tire. I have had no further problem after replacing the tire.
  • Lots of different Mor ryde suspensions, i have the Lre Mor RYDE Rubber block # 20. If you have a similar susp check the bolts in the spring hangers.Lots have a plastic or neoprene insert the spring bolt attaches too. These will get you from the factory to home ,wear oblong and will look like an alignment issue. These can be replaced with a Wet bolt kit.
  • If it has Mor-Ryde independent suspension, that is designed to be easily aligned. It is adjustable just like a car. Contact Mor-Ryde and see who does this in your area. Not sure if it a warranty situation. If it was a car or truck it would only be covered for the first 90 days and 3,000 miles. After that you would pay for it. Pretty sure it will still be cheaper than a new tire.
