Best 15" tire?

If you want the best on your rig, don't buy 15" tires.....

As ST tires go Maxxis still is producing a quality tire as it pertains to this category. Heavy TH rigs would do better with a high-grade LT tire, but our TH comes in @ just over 10K# fully loaded and we have had good success using the 15" Maxxis 8008 ST225/75R15 LR E tire. We replace them every 4-5 years although they still have plenty of visible tread, mostly for piece of mind which has kept us off the side of the rode over the last 15 years of RVing. Carlisle's newly redesigned ST tire is receiving some good feedback, a couple of my buddies went that route and are happy thus far with the results.

Just be leery of any ST tire stamped China.

Maxxis ST8008 seems popular on this web although we've had 30 complaints from SDT8008 owners who had issues with them.
Maxxis ST along with the Provider ST and the new just out Carlisle HD seems to be the most popular ST tire at this time.
The Provider and Carlisle HD are the new gen ST with more of a LT design with a flatter sidewall profile and M speed rated (81 mph).
JMO but the best tire for a road trailer (40k-60k miles) won't be a ST tire.

My used 11000 lb 5th wheel trailer/5200 lb axles came with new 15" ST. I sold them on cragslist to a guy looking for a cheap tire/wheel combo for his lawn service trailer.
I bought four 16" 6 lug steel modular steel wheels and BFG Commercial LT215/85-16 E at 2680 lb capacity. The 15" spare still hanging under the trailer.
Ran the first set for 55k miles and currently right at 48k on the 2nd set. No issues of any kind.

Check around in our 5th wheel and TT forums for more input.....and lots of other rv websites for even more help with your questions.

Well can't tow on the rims and 16's go up in diameter and do not fit with much room in the wheel well. nor between the two tires.

Yes, the Maxxiss are still a good bet.

I'd look at the Carlisle HD ST tires.

You can tow on the rims..... just not very far.

How do you know it won't fit. Have you tried?
What toyhauler do you have?

Maxxis and westlake, they both have similar construction and 75mph speed rating, I have had best results with those two brands.

Got D rated Maxxis M8008 towed all the way to Texas and back no issues so far.
