Rig in sig below. Converter is a Parallax 7355Using a 15 to 30 A adapter from a 25 ft extension cord to the campers 30 amp cord:Plugged in to a 15A gfci receptacle with non gfci breaker. (Converter functions normally and does not trip when plugged in to 15A NON gfci receptacle NON gfci breaker at home using same extension cord/adapter)Turning off ALL other breakers except the main on RVs panel and turning ONLY converter breaker on still results in receptacle gfci tripping. If leave converter breaker off EVERYTHING else works fine(Ac, micro, water heater, fridge)and receptacle does not trip.Obviously the issue is my 12V power, which I won't have long without a converter. I heavily rely on lights and the water pump, as do most of us but generally use LP for fridge and hot water when using only 15A receptacles and don't use the AC. Batteries are good. Converter output good. All wires/connections solid. Thoughts?(Sorta kinda fear just putting in a non gfci receptacle fearing the obvious)But, can't say I can even recall the last time I plugged my Moho or my prior fiver into a gfci receptacle, if ever, so am I worrying needlessly?Any help appreciated.

Are you sure the fridge isn't on the circuit? They are the most common cause of ground faults.

GFI might be overly sensitive and converters are known to leak current to ground/frame/negative. Might try a new or different GFI.Time for a bench test. May need to put a plug on the converter to test.Either way you battery(s) would appreciate a new PD4655 if you are inclined to upgrade to a three stage converter.

My converter also tripped my GFI (Portable 30 amp unit) so basically I would need to unplug the factory installed charger while on a GFI receptalce.You can run a separate cord to a non-GFI just of the charger. The charger only uses 1-4 amps, so a 16 gauge extension cord is fine for temporary use. You can also buy a small battery charger, such as a portable 10 amp unit. It might not trip the GFI, and you can use that in place of the factory 45 amp unit. Sure it will take 24 hours to make the 175 amp hours or so that a RV typically uses in one day. But it will get the job done. Fred.

So, plug it into a non GFI outlet. 30A RV outlets are not GFI protected.

I would check the GFI and see what it does. Does it trip only when the trailer is plugged into it?

Tried 3 different circuits. All non gfi breakers, all gfi receptacles, all would trip.
Flick the converter off...all stayed fine.

Fear non gfi plug in, afraid I could charge the metal in my rig if there is a short I'm not savvy enough to find.

Already planning on plugging in two battery tenders in for each battery separately.

Looking into having a 30 amp rv receptacle installed to fix it correctly.

If you have a good ground connection the fault will will be dissapated but still exists.
30a non-GFI connection will also mask the symptom not cure the problem.
Most likely you need to replace the converter.

Sounds like you have really low batteries and the converter is pulling to many amps for the breakers. Charge the batteries up with a small charger and try it again. OR the converter is TU.
