Cover for Satelite cable or roof

Our 5 er is pre-wired for a Satelite dish, the roof is marked where to drill a hole to access the cable. My question is what's normally used to cover the hole once the cable is fished through the opening?
I should add I am not going to use the cable for a satellite dish, it will be connected to a weboost antenna.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I checked the specs on three weBoost units. Two stated 50 ohm impedance, one stated 75/50 ohms. Since your device came with RG-6 coax, you will be able to use the coax installed in your RV. Check the specs for your model to make sure.

Looks like I am good to go.

That's basically what shipped with the unit, but that was intended for a side of the rv penitration not a roof, I think if I were to use that plus a rubber boot and the Dicor I should be ok. I might go to a local marine store and see what they have, maybe something like was also suggested on this thread.

Thanks for suggestions

The most common coax used for TV is RG-6 and RG-59. RG-59 isn't used much anymore. Both are 75 ohm coax.

Someone on the forum might have a suggestion for good 50 ohm coax to use for your setup.

I think I would use a marine cable deck seal such as this one to bring the cable through the roof. My son had one on the cabin of his sailboat for years and it never let a drop of water inside. See no reason it would not work great for RV use.

In addition to the caulk/lap sealant, antenna installations also sometimes use a rubber "boot" collar which goes tightly around the coax cable and slid down to contact the layer of caulk to enhance the seal.

I just knew this idea was " too easy".
Thanks for the heads up.
So all rg6 is not the same then?

The weBoost uses 50 ohm coax cable. TV coax cable is 75 ohm and will not work. You will have to run a new 50 ohm coax.
