CRUSADER 325 RES

Would anyone have any practical experience with the Crusader 325 RES. Good, Bad or other. (Prime Time Manufacturing/Forest River)
Of particular interest is its interior comfort performs during hot weather. It's insulation R values seem a little lite which is giving us some second thoughts.
Any input would be appreciated.

  • We have a 2013 330MKS. Lot's of bang for the buck and has been an excellent rig with over 10,000 miles so far. We had the tires on the old rig swapped to the new rig because I didn't want the St tires on the new rig. We had a second AC installed and it is needed in the summer for cool down after being on the road but after cool down, it holds the temperature well. We are currently in Rockport, Texas with temps at 35 and our fireplace maintains enough heat that we don't need a heater except to warm the first time in the morning.

There is a known issue with the Darco wrap slide bottoms tearing where the rollers contact and Primetime has failed to respond on the Primetime forum. Owners are concerned about moisture problems.

Go to the Primetime forum: http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums and do a search for "Platokidd". He started the current post on the issues.
  • Our family looked at a lot of fivers before we bought our 325 RES, it has had no issues with temps over 100. We live in Ks and also spend 2 weeks in MO and have no problems with keeping the inside cool in the summer, we also only have one AC. I do like the later 14'S better with the storage in the bathroom. So far happy with the rig.
  • My 295rst cools down well in 100deg heat but I also have double pane windows and slide toppers. With the bigger unit I might be looking into bedroom air (crusaders are pre wired).
