SH where are you planning to take that in to have it replaced.

I'm just down the road from you in Ferndale.

I had a cherry blossom fall over on my Cougar last week in the first wind storm.
The night before I traded it in.
I couldn't believe it when I pulled up to my house Thursday afternoon and there was a tree leaning on it.
Luckily no damage.
Another Cherry Blossom fell through a fence at my parents in Ferndale.

This is the JR's RV Repair replaced the roof on my MH. They worked very well with insurance.
It was about $2 a foot according to my memory.

UPDATE:

Adjustor came and looked at the roof. Yes he said they would replace it. Now the issue has become exactly how much will be paid. Adjustor says $7500. Repair station says just over $10K. Waiting for the result of the negotiations! :)

If I could get a brand new roof for a $100 deductible and my rate would not increase, I'd be all over that.

I had a limb go through our MH when we lived down in Marysville.
The insurance adjuster did not want to repair the roof. He recommended the whole roof be replaced.
Shop in Sedro Wooley was recommended. (on WA 20)It worked directly with the insurance. They replaced the luan wood with 1/4 ply and worked from there up. It took longer but got a good job. It was down for nearly 3 months as shop had many damaged roofs to repair or replace,

File the insurance claim and get it done professionally. That's why you have the insurance! Its a comprehensive claim so no rate increase. I had a 6" tree limb pierce my slide out roof on our new TT. 2000 claim to fix, only 100 deductible with Geico. They said no rate increases on comp claims.. only collision. A repair shop will recommend taking the complete rubber roof off and replace the sheet of damaged wood, then replace the epdm at the tune of 4K to 6k. They wont warranty a patch, or wont consider it. Your insurance adjuster will most likely come to you and write it up the same without you having to take it anywhere. I've known 3 other friends who had similar incidents and the insurance wrote them a check for the complete replacement with no questions asked. One of my friends got 8K and kept the money then did a patch repair as what your thinking of doing and used the remainder for his personal use.

As far as the question of repairing in the manner you stated, I'm sure that would work as well as any other patch method you choose. Eternabond is very good stuff.

Had a neighbor many years ago that the same thing happened. The shop he took it to suggested to install a roof vent instead of trying to patch it.

Regarding the reference to insurance...the rig is paid off and the deductible is only $100 on a comprehensive claim. A "quality" repair facility is nowhere close to my location. I prefer, when within my capabilities, to do repairs myself.

The question, perhaps not worded well, was the sentence with the question mark Is there a reason not to: replace insulation, cover the hole with sheet metal, seal it all with Eternabond? I was just asking for opinions on this repair method since I am not sure a repair shop would do it much differently and this method I can do!
