Replacing ST 235/80/16 with LT
Looking at Firestone Transforce HT. My rims are 16x6.0, can I use 245/75/16 or do I need to stick with 235/85/16? My axles are 33 inches apart, but with the the 31.7 inch diameter 235's, I don't think...

There are reasons a 265/75 tire has never came OEM on trailers or were a upgrade option.
And as I noted it solves no problem on a trailer. There are lots of good 235 and 245 tires that cover 6K axles and the 265 falls short of the requirement for a 7K axle. If one is going to buy wheels, then 17.5" is the way to go.
