Damn straight that's too much crap. You could camp for a week with what you have loaded in the bed..... *s
Heh, as long as I'm camping on a beach- I agree. :D Left side is a beach umbrella and EZ-Up. The two white things are sewer holders and have since been mounted under the camper. Back middle are beach chairs. And far right is ladder. Closest to the cab are more beach chairs and a boogie board.Dtank wrote:

A week?
Couple of lawn chairs and a ladder, and?
Doesn't take much (strange items) to make you a happy camper!..:R
BTW - one man's cr*p is another man's treasure!
Ain't your truck or your stuff..:S

In rattleNsnack's defense, I called it******first. :)Cummins12V98 wrote:

. - AllworthExplorer IIFront to rear:
An in-bed tool box two feet front to rear and below the rail tops.
A LARGE tote box (the size of a foot locker) made of ABS or some such sitting crosswise (Note that it is a long bed 3500) with the grill , air compressor and "stuff".
A 5-gallon bucket with leveling blocks, etc. tied to the side rail.
Alongside the hitch, king pin tripod on one side and 4 @ 4x4x12" blocks for the rear stabs on the other.
Across the tailgate from driver's to passenger's, a milk crate with chocks and landing gear pads, another milk crate with the main 50Amp power cord, an Action Packer with "pull-out" gear in case I have to rescue somebody or be rescued. This stays in the truck all the time. These last three are locked to the bed with an anti theft cable.
Nothing behind the tool box is above the level of the hitch plate. - Mike_LeClairExplorerJeez! I put whatever we need to in the box. As long as it does not interfere with the hitch or kingpin movement it's good to go. I put a cargo net, designed to clear all the moving parts of the hitch, over the box of the truck and away we go. I have seen some things levitate a bit under the net as there is a huge amount of turbulence under the nose of the RV, nothing has left the the confines of the box thankfully. Use some good judgement and common sense and you will be alright.

What (if anything) can I haul in my truck bed without worrying about interference with the 5th wheel hitch? Thanks
You can put anything in the bed as long as it is not in the way of the 5th wheel hitch or kingpin! - rattleNsmokeExplorerDamn straight that's too much crap. You could camp for a week with what you have loaded in the bed..... *s

- rattleNsmokeExplorerI'll put firewood, leveling blocks, power cord and\or a large rolling cooler plus a Gerry can of diesel back there.
- HvyhaulerExplorerIn my truck bed I keep a 42 gallon 4 wheel blue tank strapped down in the RF corner and 1 or 2 five gallon yellow diesel cans next to it,also a five gallon bucket. The 2 indoor/outdoor carpets to lay out on our site ride between the hitch and tailgate folded up and strapped down.
Since wind tuberlance can be quite strong in the truck bed everything is strapped down tight with either bungee cords or ratchet straps.
Also there are assorted wood blocks for leveling etc.
I also use a Pullrite Superglide hitch.
All these items used to fit in my shortbed Dodge 2500 when it was my tow vehicle...just a little more compact though.
