No, if you would actually read my post you will note that I said "Campgrounds" not RV Parks. While all RV parks have electricity most campgrounds do not. CG's hopefully are quieter places and I hope folks will put running generators way down at the bottom of their "to do" list particularly when there is often no "need" to run them.
I guess my TL Campground Directory has a whole bunch of mistakes in it because it certainly includes a lot of campgrounds with electricity hookups.
bumpy - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIWow, how did something as innocuous as an RV oven create so much heat (pun intended). :B
A couple of thoughts..... "Are you really concerned that while I am in an RV park my oven will be making too much noise? "

My point is if you have a gas oven you can cook your dinner without firing up the noise maker (just like you can make a pot of coffee in a pot atop the stove without firing up the genny at O'dark thirty). I guess it comes back down to the word essential: something necessary or indispensable. I don't see it as "essential" to run a genny and disrupt a peaceful CG to cook or watch TV, obviously many disagree or just don't care.
As always.... Opinions and YMMV. :C - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II

If you use your oven at home, you will need in RV. I would let microwave or many things go before oven. But then, I cook in oven. If you don't use it at home you won't use in RV. In other words it depends on how you cook.
You seem to be a bit confused. A convection/microwave is not a microwave. This is a full blown convection oven that works like an oven, cooks like an oven and produces results like an oven (only better since convection cooking is generally better than non-convection cooking). If you can do it in an oven you can do it in an oven. That's what a convection oven is. It's just smaller and works better.
If you need to cook 37 different things at the same time you should use one of those, IMHO, crappy RV ovens as there is not enough room in the convection oven. However, if you plan properly you can cook a great dinner in the convection oven including a full blown Thanksgiving dinner as my wife and I have for the last many years. Whole turkey (around 9#), stuffing, AppleMallowYamYums (the bomb!) crescent rolls and then we stick the pie in there so it's ready for dessert. What more do you want?
It is you, my friend, that is angry and confused. I assure you I know the difference between a convection oven, regular oven, and microwave and I did not mention anything about a convection oven in my post. Maybe you should just grab hold of your "behind" and reread post. I simply made a statement that I would let any other means of cooking go before my "crappy" RV oven. I did nothing to invite your ire. I'm sorry you are so angry at life. Please do not respond to any of my posts again. Thank you.
I sure don't need an invitation to join this or any other conversation on this or any other forum or topic here or anywhere else. Posting to a public forum will give anyone reading that post the option to respond with their own personal opinions.
You might try to twist my words, take good info and try to say I am angry (no idea where that nonsense comes from) or tell me to go away. Sorry, this is public air space and anyone interested in posting will post. You are also welcome to disagree. Now I just have to figure out if I want to make an effort to haunt you in the future. Thanks for opening that door.
Now, back to the original topic, you know, "Has anyone given up there oven?" - FunnyCamperExplorer II

Have any of you given up an oven for more kitchen storage? If so, what do you do instead for bread or things you would normally cook in one? I know that it would be fine for the short term, but I'm afraid that we might miss it later. Thanks!
give it up for storage? wow, you don't get 'much more storage' for what you are losing. isn't worth getting rid of it if you use it.
we don't use it often, but it is there when needed :) - BumpyroadExplorer

in MOST (or all) campgrounds I will not be making noise since I will be plugged into 50 or 30 amp service.

Huh? Who's confused? Perhaps you could repost with what you really meant to say. :h What makes you think all RV ovens are "crappy"? I've owned a couple and they worked perfectly, held steady constant temperatures and baked just fine. Can't remember the last time I cooked "37" different things.... give us a break here. I don't understand why all of the rants by the folks with convection ovens. :h
If you love your convection oven, hooray but it will only work with AC and that has to come from a plug or a generator. This means that in most campgrounds you will be making noise while I will just be making dinner. :R
I am not confused and I do not need to repost. Yes, I THINK all RV ovens are crappy. But that's my opinion based upon actual experience. Of course I have not tried EVERY RV oven, I simply have not found anything that worked at least as well as a convection oven. Look at one of the posts above where they cooked a ton to stuff at the same time. OK, maybe it was not 37, but it was a bunch.
I also have no issues with using electricity. Why would I? I bought an RV capable of using electricity in many different forms and I am perfectly happy using all that are available. Are you really concerned that while I am in an RV park my oven will be making too much noise? - camper19709ExplorerI love my gas oven and use it frequently. It's quiet and does a great job. And if it is a cool/cold morning or evening it warms up the moho nicely.
