07 allegro bus 40qdp

Hello folks its been a while since I've been on the forum and I'm in the process of buying my 7th rv. Each time I buy one I come to the forum to get some information on the ins and outs of the new rig. Well I'm now buying a 2007 allegro bus 40qdp. its a very nice unit and finally I'm getting what I've wanted. the unit has 88000 miles on the 400 cummins. any feedback on this motorhome would be greatly appreciated. also considering an ew from wholesale warrenties. If anyone is familiar with them I would also appreciate some info on them. Thanking you all in advance God Bless
  • Can't say anything about your specific model, but what I can tell you is an experience one of my clients had with Tiffin.

He bought a 2006 Phaeton off of craigslist. It was nice, but somewhat neglected. He bought it, and later discovered the floor was soft in the bathroom. Turns out that is a know issue with some of the Tiffins. Anyway, he called Tiffin, and Bob Tiffin took the call. Bob directed him to a repair facility and they went to work on it. Tiffin picked up the bill!! A used coach, 2nd owner, that was at the time 7 years old.

That same client now has a new...drum roll....Tiffin!! Can't blame him with service and support like that.
  • Family member recently bought a 2008 Allegro Bus and absolutely loves it. Tiffin is an above average builder according to other owners I've spoken to. When I'm done with toy haulers I'll seriously look at a Tiffin product.
  • Extended warrantee's are profit centers for those selling and providing them. Cheap as they might be, the company KNOWS they will make a profit on you.
  • There are four areas of concern with that year Tiffin products:
    1. Hairline cracks in the rails -the curved fiberglass where the roof meets the sidewalls.
    2. The floor under the water tanks (commonly called the wet bay floor) this was made of particle board and may have gotten wet and need replaced.
    3. The floor of the large living room slide on the driver side may also need replacing.
    4. The portions of the sidewalls that are painted black may have very small white hairline flecks in the fiberglass that gets worse the older the coach gets. This is strictly cosmetic and has no effect on strength or stability.

Our 2007 Phaeton has had problems with 1, 2, and 4. The first two were repaired at the Tiffin service center in Red Bay, AL on their dime and we will just live with #4.
