1994 it's ok alarm

My breaker box is under the refrigerator. Just under that is where a big looks like some type of compasiter along with a fan. I was connected to power most all day but when i turned on the heater that night a box started buzzing. I actually kicked the cover and the buzzing stopped about an hour.. It even did it under generator power. I first thought maybe the fan was letting it overheat however I left it off all night and when i turned it on this morning it buzzed until I kicked it again. Any help
  • That could be the transfer switch.
It could have a loose coil as well. It could be loose contacts.
Look on the cover, could be inside, for make and model.
When coils start to loosen there is not much you can do to correct them.
    Best solution is a replacement.
  • get a bigger foot,, do what pass42 says, find the buzz and repair ,also get a new box.
  • in my Tradewinds, the Freedom 458 charger/inverter was buzzing/humming loudly... when I tightened the screws holding the cover on it quieted down significantly......
  • Thanks, to the side of the transformer is a little white box that has about 6 wires going into it it is what is buzzing.
  • Sounds like the transformer in the power converter.
Age of your rig it maybe time for a new updated converter. I would contact Best converter for a good replacement.
Look to see what make and model of converter you have before calling.
