2006 Tiffin slide gears keep shearing

Thank you Tiffin did ship a gear that they said would fit but was the wrong one.
this wasn't easy but We did after much resource find the right gear ( perfect match teeth, size, thickness was a replacement for unit )that was on hand. The large slide does stop and does not rachet. it is the same a the bedroom ? If this is the case with the side as soon as you hear it tighten up let off switch ? If that's the case this is Very temper mental. OR does the transmission clutch take up the slack so the teeth don't shear as easy ?
