2013 Newmar Bayside Sport 2702. Buy it?

Another question for you guys seasoned RVers.

Saw a 2013 Newmar Bayside Sport 2702 gasser at the dealer today with 9,529 miles. Unit is very clean. Asking price is $77.994

We like the floorplan and the fact that it is under 30' so we can keep it at the side of our house and not have to pay storage fees. Also the size allows us to get into a lot of spots we like.

I know that Newmar builds a good coach. I believe this may be Newmar's entry level unit. Anything good or bad to say?

All comments welcome.
  • Congratulations. Looks like you are close by, so when do you celebrate new purchase?
I hope the city you live in doesn't have the RV restriction mine does.

Thanks for the replies. We pulled the trigger on this one! We are happy, and we believe we got a fair deal. Picking up on Fri.

While I am comfortable towing a 28 ft TT with my F150, this is probably gonna take some getting used to as far as handling and maneuvering goes. Not scared though. I'll let you know how it goes.

Can't wait to take the unit out on our first trip.

    Congrats

  • NADA low retail is $63,300. That suggests some room in the ASKING price.
  • YOU like the floor plan, size, parking at your home, where you can go to, who cares what we think?

Not this coach but this will give readers an idea,

I've got no Pony in this race so,
  • I looked at he 2016 2702 until it was requested by the DW to have bunk beds for the possibility to take her great nephew with us. Check to see if it has the upgraded AC ( 13.5k btu versus 15) especially if you will be doing a lot of summer camping in the heat. Overall it is a nice unit.
  • As long as you're not compromising on too many must have or like to have features to justify the acquisition. The coach age is in what I feel is the sweet spot for a second owner. Although the general Newmar warrantee has run out or is close the first owner probably took care of the usual new construction problems. The coach is also young enough that if you choose to purchase an after market warrantee the cost of such should be reasonable.

The one item to verify before moving forward is the actual coach weight against the chassis capacity. A 17,000 lbs. empty house built on an 18,000 lbs. chassis could be a problem when you start filling the coach with stuff.

If you plan to trade in your current rig don't expect much from the dealer. You'll be sell at the wholesale rate while the dealer sells at retail. Just the nature of the transaction.
  • I hate to be the one but two things I don't like is the mid door entry, and the lack of kitchen counter, sorry. other than the two I think newmar does make quality units. not too many miles but If you like it go for it. I like MH's and wish my budget could handle one.
