Atwood G6A-4E hot water heater parts needed

I've been working on my hot water heater following the advice from people on the forum. The problem was that it decided to stop lighting.

After cleaning all contacts, testing the ECO and stat, testing voltages, the gas was not coming out. As suggested, I tested the coils and one was dead.

I ordered coils as suggested and when they arrived, they were not the right ones. My bad.

The problem is that I can not find replacement coils or an entire new gas valve (spent a couple hours on the internet). I'd prefer the coils because that is a $30 solution, but I'll go for a new gas valve.

Does anyone know where I can find them for an Atwood G6A-4E? It seems to be a model that is not that popular. My RV is a 1988.
  • Reporting back. Replaced the gas valve assembly and it fired up like a champ. Going to replace the spark assembly, ECO and Stat today to make it brand new.

Thanks to all for educating me.

I have a basic electronic question abouts ohms. So I tested the solenoids on the new gas valve and they both were 50 as was expected.

I tested the old solenoids and I got no continuity on one of them and 100 ohms on the other. No continuity means that the circuit is broken. What does 100 ohms tell you when it is supposed to be 50?
  • Mine is the Atwood 91605. I ordered the 200-15mc the other day.

Thanks again. I'll report back once I get it going.
  • Newman Fulltimer,

You are like an angel from heaven.

    Thanks a bunch,
