C Class TOAD vehicle?

Find one that weighs around 3,000 lbs or less.

Go any heavier and yes your RV manual may say it can tow more weight but YOU and your RV won't be a real happy camper pulling it around up and down any grades or hills.


The Chevy Tracker usually fits that bill. And is a popular toad. The 4 door 4x4 seats 5 comfortably and with seats folded down provides a lot of storage space. So is the jeep but it is not conducive for a family to ride comfortably in and lacks storage space. It depends on what your needs for the toad is.

Honda CRV or Element. Suzuki and the Suzuki made Tracker are popular but parts are getting harder to get according to the mechanics I have talked to.

We love our 2014 Smart Car easy hook up and do not even know it is behind our Sprinter.

Our Toad is a 2010 Ford Flex. Weight is 4200#'s. Have been in the west coast mountains. No problem towing.

Our toad is a 2014 Ford Focus, weighs a little under 3000, we tow it on a dolly, but it is towable 4 down, the reason we use the dolly, is because we already had the dolly from our previous toad, a 2005 Kia Spectra which isn't towable 4 down.

We tow a 6-speed Mini Cooper Countryman with our 26 foot class C.

I tow a 2015 Cadillac SRX FWD that tows like a dream. We figured we would maybe tow a max per year of a couple thouseand miles and instead of having some small car/vehicle for the rest of the time to bounce around town in might as well hvae something nice. Installed a SMI braking system and light system so the SUV looks totally stock and uses the factory tail lights. We really enjoy the car and how it tows behind the Ford V-10.

The Jeeps, Explorer and 4Runner are kinda heavy. The others are light weight.

Years ago, my family used to tow a Fiat X1/9 and an MG Midget as toads.

2015 Ford Focus around 3000 lbs. We tow it 4 down behind a 2012 E450 V10 Jamboree 31M.

Check out the Escapees full timers classified. You usually can find a ton of toads all set up to tow. Base plate, wiring and tow bar.

Either full timers retiring or just upgrading to a new car. At least you'd know they were taken care of by a fellow RV'ers.
