Chassis Battery on a 93 Monaco Royale Elite

My Chassis battery does not maintain a charge when parked. I have turned off everything in the coach, including 12 volt and 120 volt system to include flipping the breakers off. The starting battery is still being drawn down over a period of a couple of weeks. When looking in the battery bay, I notice the house battery wiring harness has a 12 volt male and female end that appear to have been hooked into something that I think is suppose to go to the main starting battery to maintain a charge when plugged into shore power. Can I run a 12 volt patch wire from the house batteries to the main starting battery so that the main starting battery will maintain a charge when plugged into shore power or when the generator is running? My only concern by doing this is the possibility of burning up wiring or an alternator when the engine and generator are running at the same time. Looking for some answers? Thanks

    Get a Trik L Start charger, about $50 and you will be set. :)

    I'm having to do that now, but was hoping I could use the house system to keep it maintained when I plug into shore power or turn on the generator.

    The TS will not overcharge your batt. A house batt connection may cause you over/under charge since that system was not designed to handle both. Many folks use the TS wired permanently as a solution with zero issues.

    Thanks, I did not realize this system uses the existing house charging system. I just ordered one online. They give you two options, I ordered the 5 amp option rather than the 15 amp. Hoping it works. I am the third owner of this rig, so I am not sure what has been wired where. Thinking somewhere along the way the starting battery was wired into something in the house and causing it to drain even with the 12 volt system off.
