cleaning trim pieces

Have a 12 year old coach and have been trying to find a way to clean the rubber trim around the windows and doors. The trim has what looks like mold (though I do not think it is) and is dark in color and splotchy. I have tried bleach, bar keeper's friend, magic eraser, and elbow grease but still not getting the results I would like.

Any suggestions.

Thanks
  • a camping world employee told us to use Clorox clean up bleach...just mask it from hitting anything else. He also told us the trim comes in black....Oh, yeah, I am there!
  • Do not go through all that work.

Get new trim strips in black. You never have the problem again. When I bought my last trailer I had the dealer change all the trim strips to black as part of the deal. Never have to worry about all that work again.

Or you can replace them with new white ones fairly inexpensively, but you will have to clean them soon.
  • Make a paste of baking soda/peroxide and leave on as long as you can without drying up then scrub with fingernail brush, repeat until clean.
No magic elixir that I know of but this mixture will clean the black spots off if you stay at it.
    Good Luck, Mike
