Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Problem turned out to be a dead battery.

thanks everyone I should have thought about cleaning the terminals. Will do today and see what happens. Oh yeah, I did make sure it was in park.

Damon, put the WRONG KIND OF LUGS on the wire, instead of using a battery terminal lug they used common ring connectors, they react badly with the led of the battery terminal under moist or acid conditions.

The solution

When I replace my battery at the end of this month I plan on getting the shortest battery cable I can find, Ill put a bolt thrhough the lug on the cable and on the assorted freshly cleaned ring connectors,, I will then seal the connection well with a quality sealer.

THEN.. I will hook it back to the battery with a proper positive terminal lug.

Till then,,, Just keep cleaning every few years.

Good suggestion above. I've solved a couple of no start problems for others by cleaning the positive terminal.

Generally, it's good idea to disconnect the negative (ground) terminal first. That way, if your wrench slips and touches a metal part while still touching the positive terminal, bad things don't happen.

A lot of good suggestions, only thing I can add is make sure your chassis battery is not dead. My question is where in the heck did you find grass to mow in SD this time of year??? lol

What eng and chassis do you have? If it is a Chevy there is a 15 amp fuse that when it blows the dash goes dead and the steps don't work either. If your battery terminals are clean and you have 12.5 volts or more check for that fuse in the main fuse compartment. What caused mine to blow was the wire that goes from the steps to the fuse was caught by my slide when retracted and shorted to ground when the key was turned on.

The reset breaker is a little grey button, on the post, on the bottom of the BCC. One is for coach batts, the other is for the chassis.
Have to look close, it does not look like reset button!!!

I always have a laugh when someone mentions the vehicle was not in park. I had to drive 40 miles to rescue the wife one time because her car wouldn't start. Even some guys tried to jump it...

It took me awhile to get to her plus I had bridge tow as well. Pulled up and noticed it right away being in drive. Wife was inside so I just put it park and made sure it worked which it did then called her on cell phone telling her it was fine now and headed back home...

Cooling down period haha...
