You are right about tire age but
I've heard of almost new tires blowing. - cbr46ExplorerWould be nice to know what brand of tire(s) and especially tire age.

Best,
- bob - GHOST1750ExplorerI have a motor home to relax not to beat arrival records. as far as how many hands on the wheel, that's why God gave me two hands, to keep on the wheel at all times. I'm a retired driving instructor and driving school owner and I stressed that to my students.
- Charlie_D_ExplorerI have traveled that section of I-10 a 100 times . Lived within 5 miles of that section that is just south of Sorrento for 30 years and it takes you to N.O.. Traffic is always heavy. He is passing an 18 wheeler and they are known for speeding.
- Skid_Row_JoeExplorerTragic.
- Mr_Mark1ExplorerMsmithth1199, you do realize that the guy did end up on the other side of the interstate in the travel lanes. If cars had been there, they would have collided.
I agree that the cable was attached to something on the motorhome. As the motorhome runs next to the cables on the 'other' side, the cable pops the dirt causing a cloud as the motorhome is apparently pulling the cable. I think it had a lot to do with him flipping over after watching the video very closely.

If you watch the video closely, it appears that the vehicle was headed left until it got to the concrete ditch and cable barrier. The barrier did deflect the coach somewhat and it ran straight along it for awhile. Then I think it appears that the cable barrier actually is what flipped the coach over in to the on coming lanes of traffic. I don't think that the driver could have turned the wheel to cause the abrupt flip to the left that put it on it's side over the cables. I think the cable snagged the front end and flipped it.
That's what I saw. The cable was clearly wrapped around the motorhome somewhere, as you can see the post being ripped from the ground as the motorhome flips. - msmith1199Explorer II

He rolled right over those cables and never even slowed. Redirected? I think not.
Look again. When the motorhome changes direction it's because of the cable. If you look when he rolls over, you'll see he's completely on the other side of the cable, but you can see the cable posts still being pulled out of the ground. That means the cable was wrapped around the motorhome and was keeping it from going into the other lanes. The cable worked just like it was supposed to. - DSDP_DonExplorerSome should take a closer look at the video before declaring wrong doing by the driver. There is no way anyone is going to decide speed, what he/she did wrong, or right, without a traffic scene investigation by State Troopers.
I don't think I would run out and buy steering products either after watching this crash. First, the tire didn't just blow, but shredded immediately (you can see the tire (gator) come out from under the coach immediately after the blowout. This means he/she dropped down onto the rim. He/she did a pretty good job of controlling the coach until they hit the center divider which was soft grass. The rim, with very little tire left, (look at photo at end of wreck-left front tire)most likely dug into the soft surface.
No steering device on earth would have saved them in this crash. - NascarcruzinExplorerI have Steer Safe on my MH too, I hope I never have to find out if it really works the hard way!
