Dishnet sat TV questions

Looking at buying a KING VQ4510 Tailgater Bundle - Portable Satellite TV Antenna and DISH HD Solo ViP 211z Receiver (two)

Any pros or cons to this system? I have the old 2008 in motion Kingdom system and it no longer is supported by dishnet and I need HD TV

this looks like a very well priced system compared to the fixed automatic roof systems
not in need of recording etc

The only problem we have now is that Dish is in contract negotiations with Fox 13, which is the Seahawks broadcast station and they can't get together on price, SOOoo Dish does their usual tactic and we're blacked out

The blackout is NOT a Dish "tactic". Once the current carriage agreement expires, Dish is legally required to drop the station unless the other side agrees to an extension. Dish routinely offers station owners a "make whole" extension agreement where once a new contract price is settled, Dish pays the difference back to the previous contract expiration date. But station owners typically prefer to hold the subscribers hostage in an attempt to force Dish to pay higher prices. Then there are companies like Tribune that refuse to even meet to negotiate for 5 weeks...
  • We have the Winegard Traveler Dish 1000 sat unit and it works quite well. We have the same box,722, as we have in the house. We used to have a real problem with being able to access the programs when we set up and every time we stopped we had to call Dish and spend a bit of time doing the signal bit on the phone. I finally found that if I left the box ON, then when we pulled in, there was a minimum time till we got signal.

  • $49/mo for two years 190 channels. Free HD and DVR service for life.

    Hard to beat.

The only cons would be the same with any dome system. You can only watch 2 different channels on 2 different receivers if the channels are both being broadcast on the same satellite (Dish uses 3 satellites). Winegard also sells antennas meant specifically for Dish so you should compare. I should also mention that the other possible con is that this antenna is a Dish only antenna whereas you could also buy an antenna that would work with Dish or DirecTV in case you changed your mind in the future.

thanks I think I have found that the Winegard PA-6002 Pathway X2 Satellite TV Antenna is best one for my wants
Iam aware that's its Dish only they seem to have good coverage lots of channels and priced competitively
