Do you think anything will freeze?

Ok. So, I'm back home in South Dakota, but my motorhome is in an outdoor storage facility near Fort Collins, Colorado. I placed it there just a few days ago and now I see in the weather forecast that there is a freak cold snap coming into Colorado Wednesday. I really really don't want to travel in the car 350 miles, rent two nights at a campground (so I can keep the motorhome warmer during the cold snap), and then drive the 350 miles back home. Do I need to worry about things freezing up if the temperature is going to get down to 23 degrees overnight? The daytime temp shows it to be about 38 degrees for a high. I didn't winterize because, well the hard freeze stuff is not supposed to even happen this time of year in that area. I drained the water heater, grey and black tanks, and I have 'low point' hot and cold drains which I also drained. Really the only part that I'm really worried about is the tiny fresh water line that goes to my residential refrigerator. That probably has some water in the line. What would you do...just cross my fingers and hope or drive down and try to keep the rig warm during the overnight cold snap by staying in it and running the propane furnace?

    I didn't figure on low twenties. It is a cut off low pressure system. Heck, South Dakota will be warmer than the plains of Northern Colorado on Wednesday. I stored in Fort Collins because we are staying there in June and July, just wanted to save the gas and not really any good place to store back home.

    I think this would be a very iffy situation, and would be scared to take the risk. While the water may have been drained via low point drains, unless you actually blew the water out of the system, there's still going to be water in some of the lines. If the faucets and/or drains have not been left open and any water does freeze, where is the air in the lines going to go as the water expands as it turns to ice? Not saying what to do, but it would sure scare me.

    Anything around 27 or 28 or below for several hours, I would worry. Whether I would worry enough to travel that far I doubt. A 700 mile round trip will cost you several hundred dollars(total cost, not just gas) which might repair any minor damage from freezing.

    700 mile round trip is a long way but you are gambling. Better be real careful and do a good inspect when you put the water back to her.

    I totally disagree with the previous posters. First, remember water freezes at 32! You will have freezing on board your RV. A daytime high of only 38 will not hold the temperature inside and under the floor (where the water lines are) above freezing when the temps reach 23! I bet you experience temps below freezing in the RV long enough to risk freezing water pipes.

    I wouldn't worry about it but I would be sure to put that on my list of things to closely check the next time you go to use your coach.
