Dripping LR AC

Hello, I have water Dripping from my LR AC around the cold air exhaust area that even drips when turned off and running the BR AC. I have ensured that the drain hoses are cleared. I even disconnect the LR drain hose and let it drain in a bucket inside the LR and still get the Dripping. I have disassembled the top and saw nothing obvious. The real puzzle now, is why it wants to drip while turned off and running only the BR AC? Anyone familiar with this issue? TIA.

  • If not frozen fins, your A/C is leaking around the compression gasket. There is a square foam gasket that is placed between the roof A/C and the roof. It seals the unit to the roof. Over time, they compress and will allow water in, both rain and A/C run off. If you remove the inside cover, you'll see four 7/16" bolts, one in each corner. You need to SNUG these down. This should be done every year or two. I like to use a 1/4" drive socket set so that I don't use too much pressure. Again, snug, not tight.
  • First thing to check if your A/C is leaking inside the coach is your inside filters. If they are clogged, your fins will ice up and water will leak inside. Remove the filters and clean/replace them. Run your A/C on FAN ONLY for about 15-20 minutes and your issue will go away...Dennis
  • Did you try tightening down the 4 screws and compressing the gasket a little. Is it coming from outside or the ducts.
  • If you have ducted AC is there any chance that you have a roof leak that is getting in to the duct work?
With the rear AC blowing it is possible that the air flow is blowing water towards the LR AC unit.
Besides a roof leak, I would check the BR AC unit to make sure that it is draining properly and not allowing water to get in to the duct.
