Good morning. Peggy and I are in NH and are planning to store our motor coach in The Great Outdoor Resort in Titusville, FL for the winter. I discovered it at the rally in Syracuse. It looks great (large for sure) but we are looking for similar resorts in the country, do any of you have recommendations about 4-5 star resorts in other parts of the country?We go to Palm Desert every winter (not yet by RV) but plan to when I retire. I am currently in a campground for the weekend in NH and it is large, mostly tents and trailers (we could be the only Class-A) and while sounding like a snob, I feel compelled to ask, where are the folks like us?Thanks, in advance for your suggestions.

Don't think OP was being snobbish, just that there were no other class A's around in the camp he was staying at. He is probably like most of us and likes a mixture of rv units around. Sometimes you get some good information from those who have rv's similar to what you own and a campground is a good place to discuss those things. If he is looking for a "resort" with only Class A's, then I would tend to agree.

Oops....my apologies...just doing research.....have enjoyed 13 weekends n a row, grew up in Maine and am comfortable with my roots.

Not snobbish to want an upscale experience. There are many upscale RV resorts that cater primarily to Class A's. They charge a premium price for a premium experience. Those who don't care to or can't afford these places don't have to have an inferiority complex about it, but neither do those who prefer this type of place. Some outstanding examples are:Hearthside Grove, Petoskey, MITraverse Bay, Traverse City, MIRiver Bend, Alva, FLPelican Lake, Naples, FLOutdoor Resorts, St. Lucie West, FLRiver Ranch, Frostproof, FLLazy Days RV Park, Seffner, FLThe Great Outdoors, Titusville, FLMotorcoach Country Club, Indio, CAOutdoor Resorts, Indio, CAI am sure there are many others and I look forward to reading here about them.

Oh, and our 21 foot TT has 3 (three!) burners on the stove top... which is useless, as we only can use one at a time anyways. Stove top is not very big.

Very cool! Wife and daughter would LOVE that place... son wants forest, but he might put up with a night or two there. I take it people use the "golf cart boats" to visit other campsites?

well my current tiny TT only has two burners, but it didn't cost $$$$$$$$$$$$. and the salesman didn't have his nose stuck up in the air when he described it. :)

I see a lot of power boaters on Lake Havasu, since there is no speed limit on the lake! There really fun to watch especially when they run across the rear wake of the Ferry that runs across the lake to the California side!

speaking of snobs, I was looking at a very expensive motorhome years back and fussed at the salesman because it only had a two burner stove, the fancy type that is inset down into the marble/or similar countertop. He replied that the people who drive these motorhomes don't do a lot of cooking, they prefer to eat out at 4 star restaurants.
I then noticed a metallic door on a lower cabinet and asked what it was. He replied that it was a dish washer. My next question to him was if they don't do much cooking, why do they need a dishwasher. His reply with his nose in the air was that "It does a marvelous job on the crystal stemware".
Oh, I didn't buy it.

TGOR of Titusville is a great community --- a good mix of every type of RV configuration – with a real golf course and in a good spot to live, IMHO, for about 2 months of the year(I’m not a fan of hot and Humid).

A couple we have enjoyed on the East Coast at Lake Toxaway – Great in the spring and early Summer – Hilton Head – great in the late Fall – Winter and early Spring( too crowded and way too HOT in the Summer) Palm Desert has a host of choices, but if we are going to be in the area of the West we tend to try to be in the Utah area, of parts of Arizona and New Mexico, there the National Parks CG’s are usually not crowded and put you into an area that is truly Spectacular. Around San Antonio, Texas, there are a few that were Great – also the Hill Country of Texas has a number of good Winter locations.

If you are asking where are all the Class “A”’s then my guess is they are on the road or in a number of National and State Parks across the country – you need to remember that you are in the minority, and they are “Motor Homes” motor being the operative word. So if you are just going to sit – get a time share or a house – if you are staying for months at a time – trailer of fifth-wheel – then if you are driving around staying maximum of a month or two, but mostly less then get the MH.

One of our all-time favorite spots is in Golden Colorado – sites looks out on Clear Creek – walk to the community center, library, town, Coors, Dinner and the Rockies are just up the Road. Not fancy but sure is Nice—most of the State parks out West are as nice as many of the high end “Resort” parks – all depends on what you are looking for.

That is Hilton Head? Yes, if I'm not mistaken they frown on overnights in the lot.

But is sure a great place to spend the winter.
