You might even check with Caterpillar.

Unlikely to help. The engine manufacturer only specs the flow rate and micron rating (2 for Caterpillar) to which the fuel is to be filtered.

The chassis maker determines how many filters, make of filter housings and their location(s).
  • First a question: do you have ONLY that filter, or do you have a secondary fuel filter.

If only one, it IS the correct one (2 micron).

If you have two filters, it is NOT the correct filter for the PRIMARY filter. You want between a 10 and 30 micron primary followed by the two micron secondary.
  • Yes you can get a filter that will cross reference to that Alliance filter at NAPA. NAPA Gold filters are made by WIX. You can also get WIX filters at any O'Reilly auto parts store. Same as NAPA gold but a bit cheaper.

Or, as suggested, get Alliance filters at any FL parts counter.
  • Yes, but it will most likely be a filter that fits but has a higher micron rating and won't use the bowl on the bottom.

If you have a Freightliner dealer nearby check with them. Alliance is a Freightliner product.

  • Probably but I have found that NAPA Gold filters dont have as many pleats as say a Fleetguard.
