Help please

Well, got call from Camping world mechanic. Took RV for test drive, took off tires, checked manifold temperature, brakes and anything else they could see. They said nothing wrong at all, and to go buy a mat that my husband won't feel the heat. Cost us $200 ( which included the inspection and propane tank fill ). Not too bad considering what it could have been. It also bought us peace of mind. Thanks to all who replied. Now on to the Ralph for Bills home opener.

Thank you. Got Camping World to look at it Wednesday. With some begging about the Bills home opener against New England. Describe it to the mechanic and he said it could be normal because hasn't been drive, could be stuck whatever. He said it should be ok to drive it there, which is about 30 miles, so I have to take his word I guess. Husbands mechanic said to try driving it around slowly and stop frequently. That sometimes whatever is "stuck" will work itself out. Sorry, don't know anything about cars or RV's so not sure what he means. Will update after it's fixed and see what it is.

There is a recall on some of the Workhorse and other chassis due to the BOSCH brakes doing what you describe.. I do not know if your unit is affected, Mine is. (2005 Damon Intruder)

Get it fixed. This a safety issue. Shouldn't take long and like has been said any type of truck/automotive repair shop should be able to get you back on the road fairly quickly and well under $500. Use the telephone and call around. Explain your problem and see what they say.

Just jack the axle until the wheel is off the ground. If the wheel spins without much effort, it isn't a brake problem. Just to be on the safe side, start the engine and apply the brakes------then release the brakes. See if the wheel still turns without much effort.

And when the engine is running, listen for exhaust manifold leaks.

Thanks. I'm trying to locate garage who will look at it. Does anyone know of a place in Buffalo area and surrounding suburbs. Not having much luck so far. He said it felt "hot". Not enough to burn skin, but hot. Said the wheel and hubcap felt hot when he touched them. No other issues thus far. Hope we can get it fixed before home opener.

I agree with others. It is absolutely not a brake issue. There is no possible way that you could feel the heat from the RIGHT front wheel while driving. It is probably engine or exhaust heat and might be perfectly normal. It is impossible for anyone on the internet to know how much heat he actually felt. Was it enough to burn the skin? Was he wearing thin tennis shoes this trip and heavy boots last time? Way too many variables. Let a trusted mechanic diagnose it.
