help with external dish and R6 cable routing

You have me really confused? You have satellite, yet you want to connect your satellite box to the park cable service? Is that right???? Cant be done! Cable is totally different from satellite service. To connect to the park cable, you might need a cable box from the park office, or possibly you can simply connect to the cable in on your RV and connect a short coax from cable port behind your TV to the coax in port on your TV.

You would use the cable button on the black box. However it may not work for satellite due to non satellite splitters and the rig coax type could be a issue.

If you can find any splitters and remove them it might work. Or just run a coax directly to the receiver from the dish.

BTW From the receiver I ran coax to the nearest outside locker connected to barrel connectors for the dish coax. There is no reason to have the connection at the back DS corner for the dish.

It just depends upon the location of your receiver.

Yes I have a Sat but the roof top dish can't get a signal because of trees in the way. So I acquired a dish and have it mounted to a pole nearby. I thought I should be able to connect it to the park cable connection so I don't have to run it throug a window for the next 6 months. Pushing the cable button will not work because it does not go through the Sat receiver.

You have to remove the "cable" cable from the back of the box of buttons and connect it to the sat receiver.

I've done it like this: Sat dish to outside "park cable" jack. On "black box", move cable from "cable in", plug that into sat box input. On sat box, connect cable from "Sat out" to black box "cable in". Push "cable" buttons on black box, tune TVs to channel 3 (or 4 depending on sat box) and all should work. This is how I did it and it worked. Cable from dish into driver's side window and into sat box input works too.

Thanks bluegypsy I will give that a try...I did run it through the window to get it pointed and tuned.

The park cable connection is has a different OHM value and will even get hot if you use it because you are transmitting signals via Amperage to the antenna to tune it. You must have the same Coax from receiver to antenna to get it to work. Make sense?
