led lights

We just replaced some of our fluorescent lights with leds. Watched some "how to" videos and some show that we have to cut wires to the ballast and some videos just show snapping in the new tubes. We just snapped in the new tubes. Is that ok?

Consumes power when switch is on. Not as much as when lights are connected but transformers consume some power without a load.
  • I would also cut ballast wires. You don't need the ballast. If for some reason in the future you wanted to change back you could re-connect them with crimps or wire nuts.
