LED Vanity Lights ?

are they worth 10 bucks a piece to replace the vanity light with $10 each LED lights do they save the much power and give that much more light ?
  • I purchased my LED light bulbs on e-bay from a Chinese manufacturer for $ 2.20 each. It took aprox. 16 days for delivery but was worth every Penny. LED bulbs are all made in China and then the price is marked up by 200 to 400 percent by greedy American Middleman. Shipping was free.

I would caution on being selective about the color of the LED's. I got cheap ones and didn't pay attention to the color. Very cold, almost fluorescent.
  • Yes all LED are worth the cost if under $10, I just upgraded the inside of my Bounder with LED on all lights, much brighter than before, Amazon has good prices also, 12 LED bulbs for $95.00 delivered.
  • They certainly will save power over the incandescents for drycamping purposes, whether that translates into saving enough energy dollars to offset their cost when plugged into shorepower depends on how much they are utilized, I suspect it will take quite a long time to realize value of investment.

We have performed an LED conversion throughout the interior of our rig with the sole intent of extending the capabilities of our stored 12 volt power source when camping off the grid, and they have delivered magnificently upon this premise. Almost felt like we added another battery after the conversion, used both Ebay and local LED resellers, all LEDs were manufactured in China and none have failed after 3 years of heavy use.
  • Unless for some reason you leave your vanity lights on a long time, a waste of money IMHO. mine get turned on only when needed.
