Little gremlins, gotta laugh'em off

Usually there is something with every trip. Getting ready to drive to the campground today and shut the door - grind whirring' buzzing noise. Yep, the steps gave it up. No noise nothing now, probably a fuse. At least they are stuck up, literally.

Had problems earlier this year, was told nothing was wrong. At least I'll get some use out of my extended warranty. Now if we can only get through the weekend without breaking a leg stepping out.

They've been lubrictaed, just a week ago actually. 2 years old. They sure make junk don't they! They would sort of slow down when halfway out and when coming in. I knew it was a matter of time.

Another thing added to the list for fall repairs.
  • Love the bell idea, but it would probably drive me nuts trying to figure out where the ringing sound was coming from.

I would have needed two on this trip. After arriving and putting out the driver slide there was a deposit on the floor of two flat washers. So immediately I'm wondering where they came from??? When we purchased this MH two years ago I found two just sitting on the floor as well ( I saved them as I'd probably figure it out later).

So later in the evening I got the flashlight and started looking under the carpet of the slideout where the rollers were, hoping the problem wasn't those. They looked fine. Then I see the problem. We have a pull out section of the couch to extend the sitting area. On that there are two rollers. One was just laying underneath. That would explain why it was harder to get out. So that where the two washers came from and the other two from two years ago. All together 15 minute repair for that.

As far as the steps, they were acting up last winter with the stalling half in and out. I'm going to get some use out of my extended warranty this time and demand a new motor. These steps have always been lubed and taken care of.

Maybe you should invest in one of these.....

    Gremlin Bell

They only work when received as a gift and cannot be moved to another vehicle or motorcycle.:)
  • They work twice as strong if you give one to someone else. I'd like to be first in line!
  • It does appear that the fuse has gone after an electrical overload. Better check out all its wiring plus be sure the mechanism is not damaged. Any chance it got hit with debris?

Only replacing the fuse is a waste. A fuse is not a troubleshooting tool. Are you adept at using a multimeter?

Do you have two RV's, I seen this post twice.

Nope, one is enough LOL. Seems like a common issue
  • Man - seems that stuff like that always seem to happen RIGHT BEFORE a trip, doesn't it?
