Received new insurance papers on the MH today and it was a shocker, an increase of almost $100 over last year. No tickets,no claims and as far as I know no change in credit rating. Guess it's time to start looking for a new agent. Looking for input as to where the best rates might be found.

Pull out your old policy and compare each category to see what coverage went up. Comprehensive (OTC) may have gone up since it covers fire, theft, hail, etc. I have an Actual Cash Value policy which means basically NADA value if I have a claim and you may have a stated value which is more costly.
Call around & be sure to compare exact coverages. Getting the cheapest policy may not be the best way to go since you want a company with a good claims payment reputation.

If you have Agreed Value, this it not uncommon, in my experience. After my replacement ran out beyond 4 or 5 years my agreed value kicked in and I noticed an increase every year. If I switch to another Insurance the value if totaled, etc. will be book value and considerably less than my Agreed Value, so any savings on annual costs could be minimal compared to what I would receive if my MH was a total loss.

I use Geico, right now my resident is NE but when we moved from CO we left it in storage in CO so they could not give the multi discount. But next month we will store it in NE and will get a multicar discount, but they have pretty good coverage I think. Plus they included road side assistance.

We have a dirt cheap ins policy from geico.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I just requested a quote from Good Sam Insurance and it came back $300 more than I'm paying now. They didn't even ask what kind of coverage I wanted or the replacement value of the MH.

I live in Texas and just renewed my Blue Sky Ins for one year. Have all the coverage I need and the total was $683.00 for the year. Have never had any claims so can't comment on that aspect.
