Need Help w/ Winterizing - water pump not working

Make sure you run the pink stuff through the toilet valve into the bowl and into the shower head.
Run enough into the sinks and tub to fill the P traps as well.

OK - I got it! Thanks to all of you for your quick responses - it's getting cold in KY tonight! I drove to a slight incline in the driveway so gravity pushed toward the pump. Then I opened the closest faucet and waited - after a few minutes it kicked on.
My directions don't say anything about by-passing the water tank, but that sure seems like a better way. I'll have to get back with you later and find out more on how to do that. Not today - it's cold outside! Thanks again for all your advice,

I only put pink antifreeze in drains, never in water lines. You use about 40psi to blow out the water lines, drain the fresh water tank. All you need is a $2 fitting that installs in your city water connection and air, 1 gallon of pink that will go in drains ( and waste water tanks). It's kind of like blowing down a sprinkler system. It takes 2 people, one to apply the air, one to open each water faucet till the water quits coming out, including the toilet. Total time about 10 minutes. You can buy the fitting at Walmart.

Find the pump it will have two hoses connected-one will be suction from the tank the other the pressure side. The one to loosen first is the pressure side so the pump can push out the air easier.

When the pump runs but no liquid (water or antifreeze) comes out your pump is sucking air. Look for anyplace that there may be a loose connection. Check the filter that is installed on the line right before the water pump and make sure the top dome is screwed down tight. This is a frequent place for air to leak. If you did not blow your lines with air, just running the sink dry should not have made your pump lose prime - but if it has you need to get some water or antifreeze directly into the pump to prime it and get it pumping again.

If all else fails and you need to winterize right away and want to push fixing this off until the Spring, go to an RV shop and buy an RV antifreeze hand pump. One end connects to your city water line and the other end goes into an antifreeze bottle. You hand pump the pump and push antifreeze into your system. Winterizing

Your pump is air locked do you have a suction hose that by passes the fresh water tank you should never have to put anti freeze in your fresh water tank (waste of money) if you dont have a by pass hose go buy one unscrew the suction side and put the hose on there stick it in a gallon jug of pink and suck a little in you may have to pour it in the line to get the pump primed. I also just blow the lines out now saves a ton of wasted time and money.

If you have enough pink stuff in fresh water tank.........then turn on pump and open the farthest faucet and let it run until air is blown out of lines and pink stuff flows.

Hi, I put the pink stuff in the tank also (I never drink the water out out the tank, always use bottled water).
What I do is park on an incline, if no incline, just use leveling blocks on one side of rv so that the outlet is well covered, then run the pump, may take a little while to pull the stuff up.
Try that, maybe you will have some luck
