You just discovered why I don't like Xantrex Inverter/chargers with built in transfer switches.

Theirs are the only transfer switches that I know of that can fail on the passthru function as well as the invert function. It's like having a relay where the N/O, and the N/C, contacts both fail on any kind of relay failure. It's not intuitive to expect that behavior from a transfer switch. They will usually work in default (inactive) mode even when they won't activate.

Not SO with good old Xantrex.

The code that's flashing on the inverter says battery voltage shutdown.

No it's not tripped. Anyone know an easy way to check the ATS?

The breakers, on the inverter, that hershey was referring to are the (usually) white push button breakers on the front of the inverter. Have you verified that they are not tripped?
