My range hood doesn't even have a hole in the back of it so I would have to hack it to use an exterior vent.
Instead, I have a thermostatically controlled fantastic fan in the middle of the kitchen (in front of the stove). When the vent is open it will turn on by itself after we start cooking.
Moves a lot more air than a hood vent and didn't havve to cut any hole in the exterior.
Just a thought!
