- mfox20ExplorerHad it done but in a spring shop. Reworked one side and added a leaf to the right and left rear to level the unit up. Also made a big difference on sway when driving.
- Golden_HVACExplorerI also had a spring job done at a spring shop to install an extra leaf. It was on a 1985 class C GM, and it was only about 7 years old at the time.
Without a lift, I would not be attempting it. They also needed plenty of jack stands to support everything, and several floor jacks to compress the springs just right and put the bolts into place.
Good luck,
Fred. - MountainAir05Explorer III have done it twice when I was younger. As stated you need to jack up and support the frame and axle. A good level spot. Best with a couple people. When finish take to truck alignment shop. Be safe

Anyone ever done the job in their driveway?
Yeah, no big deal. - phillygExplorer IIIt's a two out of ten wrench job. Good to have a grinder on hand for stubborn bolts and ditto on plenty of jackstands.
- whem2fishExplorermfox did you use Ray's?
- 10forty2ExplorerThanks! The job's gotta be done as the springs on the left side are sagging. I think I have enough stands and jacks, but maybe not enough hands. It looks to be a pretty straightforward job...2 straight bolts and 2 u-bolts.
Anybody gone back with heavier rated springs than OEM? My coach is rated at 20,500lbs. I've been eyeballing the new springs at 22K to give me a little more breathing room....not that I plan to put more stuff in the coach...just that I'm pretty darn close, if not slightly over, even when I'm lightly loaded for a weekend trip. - mfox20Explorer

I used Fort Worth Champion Spring in downtown Fort Worth. I have used them on 2 Class A's with good results for spring work, front end alignment and they did the labor on my shock replacement. - time_to_go_nowExplorerEverything is larger and heavier duty. And higher torque specs. I would think big impact guns and at least 3/4" drive ratchets and sockets. I snapped my 1/2" drive socket and breaker bar trying to loosen a suspension bolt.
If you have the tools, I don't see it as that big a deal! - jhilleyExplorer

What did it cost?
