BINGO! Our rig is 8 years old, GEO from day one. No problems.

I use a spray wand that I bought at Camping World. I have learned where my gauge sensors are located and I can spray directly on my gauges. To find the place in the tank to aim the spray I had my wife hold the button and watch the the reading. When the spray hit the gauges all of the lights lit up. I allow the spray to blast the sensors clean.

Recently I found a product that people say works great at cleaning gauges. It is called Break-Up. Their web site is HERE. I don't know how well it works as I haven't tried it yet.

Safe Travels.

We used it once and it did temporarily cure the problem. By temporarily I mean for about a year. I our case I used very warm water and drove it for about 30 minutes before draining the tanks. I was surprised how much gunk came out since I always flush both tanks until only clear water comes out.
It took nearly an afternoon to fill the tanks, drive around for a while, and flush the tanks. It didnโ€™t seem to be worth the time and effort. For the next 10 years we looked down the toilet to gauge the level of the black tank, and figured 6 showers and dishes for 3 days was about all the grey water tank would hold. Even if we made a mistake on the grey water tank the worst that ever happened was a little standing water in the shower.

I must be lazy and cheap. I full time and all of the above solutions seems like a lot of work and expense for such a trivial problem. Oh well...each to his own. JMHO

I use the Thetford level gauge cleaner in our tanks, but only when getting ready to move the coach. I fill both holding tanks half full, add the chemicals, then drive the coach to our next destination. Then I fill the tanks with water and dump. 6 years full-timing and counting and my gauges read correctly.

I had stayed at a couple of CG's that had horrific well water and coincidentally my sensors were not working properly.

A month later I was going over my RV manuals and came across a chapter on holding tanks and it stated that different types of just water does foul the sensors on the tanks and they said just flushing with water will not restore them, recommending a cleaner.
I bought a bottle of it and yes it cleared up the problem.

I'm one of the few, I guess, that my sensors work all the time. But I do practice using plenty of water in the black and always running a full tank of plain water thru the black after every dump and I don't put food stuffs or grease of any type down the gray.

AND I add a bottle of Thetford sensor cleaner every couple of months to both tanks with a full tank of plain water to remove the minerals off the sensors from CG well water.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

I've tried it, didn't work. Gauges just don't work, live with it.

Yes. Years ago. It didn't work then and I suspect that it hasn't improved any.
