upgradeing from carpet to tile or adura laminate

I have and 05 Phaeton that has carpet in the front half of the coach. It is very hard to keep clean and I want to replace it with either a tile or the Adura Laminate. I am leaning towards the Adura. It is flexible and extremely hard. Has anyone had any success with the laminate or with tile. The kitchen has tile now so I know the tile will work but I really like the wood look in the Adura product. Any comments and help would be appreciated.
  • I installed Adura in my business about 3 years ago. I have no doubt it would hold up well in an RV. It can be installed as a floating floor as well as grouted to look just like tile. When the time comes to re floor my coach I plan to use Adura.
  • We went with Pergo and added the underfloor heating. Turned out good but lots of fiddling around. As previously mentioned you have to go a half inch under the dash or so to get a clean look. Honestly if you are ever in cooler environments consider the under laminate heating as it is absolutely wonderful.

  • I have an 05 Phaeton and I have taken out the carpet and tile in the front and the bedroom and replaced with laminate. The tile was not easy to remove. You have to be care around the console in the cockpit area. You'll want to get as much tile out from under it as you can so you can slide you new product under the console. You will be happy you have done this when it is done. After the tear out the new floor goes in really fast and pretty easy. And you not talking a lot of square footage. I put in a product called quick step. It was very expensive at over $5.00 per sq. ft. It did not hold up well, lots of tiny scratches by the entry door from tracking dirt in. The slides scratched it as well. Years ago I did it in my last coach and used Pergo. That stuff help up very well. I think next time I do I will look for a product that is one color all the way through so scratches wont show.

We put Mannington Adura LVT in out coach from firewall to bedroom closet. It's been in for about 2 1/2 years now & is as new. We continue to be very happy with the Adura.
  • Are you sure it is not ALLURE vinyl plank flooring your asking about?
There are a lot of posts about installing ALLURE flooring on RV's Great product, and if your handy at all it is a good DIY project.
