water tank fill valve leaking?

I've been on the road for over 3 months and will not arrive home to determine my problem for another week. Inviting suggestions for me to think over as how to attack this problem. Noticed about 2 weeks ago while hooked up to city water my fresh water tank was spilling from the over flow outlet. My selection valve is a quarter turn handle on the equipment panel (not fun to get to). Valve in one position for city water the other position for tank fill. My thoughts are whatever type of valve this is, has to be leaking water into the tank while in the inside use position. Is there any other way for water to get into the tank from the tank output? If not it has to be on the fill side. Anyone one out there have this problem or wish to offer something for me to think on before I attack the problem in a week or so.

    Make sure you push the selector handle to it's limit. If you just put it on the mark for city water it can/will continue to trickle into the fresh water tank. Worked for me and a bunch of other people.

    Correct..

    2 sources when you have a utility panel
    Either leaking thru 'fill' valve or back thru pump internal check valve
    Both are under pressure with city water turned on

    Suction side line on pump should NOT have any pressure/flow if check valve good/closed.

    Water could also be leaking back through the water pump check valve. Try disconnecting the inlet side of the pump (with the pump off) and see if there's any seepage from the outlet side. The inlet piping from the tank will leak of course, so be prepared to temporarily plug it.
