What About Mandalay?

Anyone have any opinions on a 2006 Mandalay 40E? It looks pretty good on paper--a 40 foot coach with a 400 HP Cummins ISL with side radiator and floor plan we can live with. It looks like it's in good condition in the pictures, but we'll have to make a drive to view it. I'm guessing it's a little over priced or doesn't look like the pictures because its been on the lot for two months.
  • We just traded in our 07 Mandalay 40f we bought new. Was a excellent coach with little problems at all. One reason we traded for Thor Tuscany 45AT Thor was good to us.
  • We bought a used Mandalay DP and are enjoying it. Ours is 43', has 4 slides, a 425 Cummins, a tag axle, hydronic heat, a quiet 10 K generator. It has lots of nice extras like an outdoor TV, washer and dryer set, electric fireplace. Drives very nicely, too.
  • We have a 2009 Mandalay 43A. It's our first diesel pusher, so I can't confirm or deny the comment that it's an entry-level coach.

Here's what I do know: Ours has tile floors, Corian counter tops, two bathrooms, three air conditioners, three slides, 425 HP Cummins, multiple cameras, three televisions, Aqua Hot heating, 10,000-watt Onan and all the goodies you'd associate with a nice coach. We bought the rig used in early 2015 with 25,000 miles on it. No leaks, runs like a Swiss watch and we enjoy the heck out of it.

  • In good condition somewhere between 83 and 100 thousand. I have looked at them but thought of it as a little above entry level coach.
